Sant Jordi Desvalls
The municipality of Sant Jordi Desvalls is 12 km long and has more than 700 inhabitants. Its origins are found on the Roman road that connected Empúries with Girona. The name comes from the patron saint of the parish and the toponym "of its valleys". It is seen on flat land watered by the river Ter and the Cinyana and Sant Mateu streams. Its old town stands out, presided over by the church of Sant Jordi and the remains of the castle, which has preserved the network of medieval streets almost intact and a good number of houses that preserve the physiognomy they had centuries ago, with voussoired portals, decorated lintels. Inscribed, or Gothic and Renaissance style windows.
