Sant Feliu de Buixalleu

The municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu is one of the most extensive in the region of La Selva, with an area of 61.94 km ^2.

It extends in the left margin of the Tordera and includes the valley average and low of the stream of Arbúcies.

The municipality is also drained by the stream of the Repiaix, which separates it from the municipality of Breda and forms, to a large extent, the western boundary of the term until its confluence with the Tordera.

The territory is mountainous, especially in the northern sector, located in the foothills of the Montseny and Guilleries massifs, where forests of holm oaks, cork oaks, stone pines and chestnut trees abound.

Places of interest

Castle of Montsoriu

An important monument that is in the municipality is the castle of Montsoriu, with a history of 1000 years, on the border with Arbúcies, one of the best examples of military architecture of the Gothic period in Catalonia.

Gorg d'en Perxistó

Gaserans is the famous Gorg Negre, under the farmhouse of the Perxa d'Astor, currently Can Perxistó, where the Count of Barcelona Ramón Berenguer II was murdered , called Cabeza de Estopa, on December 5 of the year 1082, at the hands of of his brother Berenguer Ramón II, the Fratricide.

Parish of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu

It is located in the center of the term, in the heart of the most mountainous sector, and at an altitude of 402 m. A few houses surround the parish church of Sant Feliu.
