Roquetes

Roquetes, framed between the channel and the right of the Ebro Massif Ports, has a total length of 136.9 km, of which 55.8 are part of higher Els Ports Natural Park, where the point is the counties of Ebro, Mont Caro (1442m. height). From its vantage point you can enjoy a splendid landscape where the silhouette of the river Ebro and draw their channels, one of which crosses the city of Roquetes, to the mouth of the Ebro Delta.

Roquetes has an important cultural heritage led by the Ebro Observatory a research institute founded in 1904 by the Society of Jesus to study the Sun-Earth relations. Other buildings of interest are the Old Town Hall (1881), the Municipal Market (1892), the Old Slaughterhouse (1922) built with a mix of Modernist styles and Noucentistes where currently the Offices and Information Point Ports Natural Park. No We can forget the Pairals houses Roquetes, the "Tower of Gil", the "Torre de Segarra", "Hort de Cruells" the "Valle del Marqués" among others. Also noteworthy, the preservation of old crafts as private oil mills still operating and the only shop watches Campanar that exists in Catalonia.

The first week of July the major festivals of Roquetes and held Raval Christ is celebrated in early August. The last weekend of August is celebrated Tradicionàrius of the Ebro, a meeting of the leading groups of traditional Catalan music which is revived and given publicity to the culture, customs and cuisine of the Ebro.
