Navarcles

Navarcles is a municipality in the region of Bages, located at the eastern end of Pla de Bages, 11 km from the capital of the region, Manresa.

With an important wine past practically disappeared, Navarcles has recovered in recent years the links with the Monastery of Sant Benet and the route that is part of the Camino de Sant Jaume, becoming again a host population.

Just 10 kilometers from Manresa, it becomes a point of contact with the river in the Lac Park, where navarclins practice adventure sports such as climbing, zip-line, archery, and can rent canoes, kayaks, bicycles or scooters.

The Lac Park

The Park of the Lac is in the way of the Galobard in the direction of the road that goes from Manresa to Moià. The lake is an artificial reservoir of the Calders River at the time it widens the exit after the meandering l'Angle. The varied species of trees give the space a sense of freshness and nature that make the park of the Lac a walking space very frequented by the navarclins.

You can have a drink and dine in the Cabana del Lac during the summer months.

Monastery of Sant Benet

The most emblematic Romanesque building in the Bages region , is located 1 km from the center of the town. It is a little known monastery but it surprises and captivates visitors. Built in the 10th century, the most outstanding Romanesque part (monastery and cloister) dates back to the 12th century, but all periods have left their mark. In the seventeenth century it became dependent on Montserrat and at the beginning of the 19th century it was a place where the monks came to reside in the last years of their lives. It was abandoned after the exclaustration until it was bought by the family of Ramon Casas who started the restoration. Since 2007 it has been rehabilitated and not only the monastery can be visited, but spaces for conventions and meetings of all kinds have been set up. The whole group has received the name of Món Sant Benet.
