Province: Barcelona | Shire: Maresme | Inhabitants: 10.584 | Extension: 2,9 Km2 | Altitude: 20 m

Montgat is part of the Maresme region. One of the theories about the origins of the name of Montgat comes from the hill: Mons Hecate, known by the Romans with the name of Promontorium lunarium.
