Mollet de Peralada is part of the Alt Empordà region, province of Girona. The municipal term has an extension of 3 km2. and the town is 59m. of altitude and the highest point of the term is the Puig de Mas Ferriols of 101 meters.
The limits of the municipal term are to the north with Espolla and Rabós to the east with Garriguella, to the south with Peralada and to the west with Masarac. It has added the nuclei of Barrio las Costas and Casaloca.
Mollet de Peralada is documented since 944 with the name: moleta. It was owned by the monastery of Sant Quirze de Colera and the monastery of Santa Maria de Vilabertran. In 1954 the Wine Cooperative was founded. From the year 1933 it was called Mollet d'Empordà, official name of the nomenclators of the Genrealitat de Catalunya
In highlighting the Church of San Cipriano, a Romanesque temple (12th century) with many later transformations where the bell tower stands out for its height; and the Chapel of San Juan de Degollaci, with a rectangular nave, located in the neighborhood of Las Costas.
