Aplec of Sant Miquel de Fontfreda in Maçanet de Cabrenys

The Aplec de Sant Miquel de Fontfreda returns to Maçanet de Cabrenys for another year this Saturday, September 28!

The festival of the patron saint of the Fontfreda neighbourhood. In the past, after the service, a dance was held on the landing below the chapel. This chapel was in a very deteriorated state, with the vault partially collapsed, until, in 1974-1975, a "work camp" was organized in the summer, sponsored by Enric Moulines, who was then the owner of the Pericot farmhouse.

From that moment on, the meeting could be held in the chapel again, recovering a tradition that had been resumed in 1970, celebrating it on the Sunday after the saint's day if it fell during the week, and which has recently been moved to Saturday. Thanks to the efforts of several die-hard fans, the meeting remains alive, with a mass and an aperitif afterwards.
