Fontcoberta
This municipality is made up of two towns with their own personality, Fontcoberta and Vilavenut, and several neighbourhoods. However, most of the population lives in the modern urbanization of Melianta, where almost all the services and facilities are concentrated.
Churches and hermitages of Romanesque origin, splendid medieval farmhouses and the curious lake of Espolla, of great ecological and fauna value, make up the attractive heritage and nature of this municipality that hosts numerous festivals and celebrations, among which the Aplec (Pilgrimage) of the Virgen de la Fuente or the festival of the snail, in April and March respectively. Several restaurants and rural accommodation complete the tourist offer of a town with undoubted attractions just a few steps from Banyoles.
