Esterri de Cardós

Province: Lleida | Shire: Pallars Sobirà | Inhabitants: 75 | Extension: 16,6 Km2 | Altitude: 1.212 m

A visit to the small town of Esterri de Cardós is a true journey back in time. The four small mountain villages that make up this town located in the heart of the Cardós Valley are still dedicated almost exclusively to livestock. If you walk along the quiet paths that link the villages, you will see sheep, cows and horses dotting the vast meadows of fresh grass.

Snow lovers can enjoy the municipal cross-country ski station, "Pla de Negüa", a magnificent center for excursions and rural and mountain tourism, ideal for resting, practicing sports and enjoying nature. Culturally speaking, each town has a splendid Romanesque church, such as San Pedro y San Pablo in Esterri de Cardós or Santa María de Ginestarre.
