Cornudella de Montsant
The town of Cornudella de Montsant, at an altitude of 533 metres, is located at the foot of the Sierra Mayor de Montsant, facing the Gritella cliffs and two steps from the Siurana reservoir. It is, therefore, in the middle of an extraordinary natural environment.
The urban nucleus of Cornudella has become in recent years the second most important town in the Priorat region. Its municipal term includes, in addition to its own municipality, two population centers: Albarca and Siurana, and has an area of 62.70 km2.
Thus, Cornudella de Montsant is located in the northeastern part of the Priorat region, halfway between the Sierra de Montsant and the Prades Mountains.
In Cornudella we highlight the Cooperative building, in a modernist style, built in 1919, the work of Cèsar Martinell, a disciple of Gaudí, and the Parish Church of Santa María, a Renaissance work by Pere Blai.
