Colomers
The lower basin of the Ter opens up to the sea between the Gavarres and the Montgrí. It begins after the Sant Julià de Ramis Gorge, through which the river descends into the Empordà plain and ends at the beaches of Pals-l'Estartit. Colomers is on the left side, 18 km from its mouth, built on a hill and extends to the terraces formed by the river and the Vilopriu torrent.
The term, of 4.3 km2, the smallest of the Baix Empordà, limits to the north with Vilopriu; to the south, on the other side of the river, with the municipality of Foixà, with the small town of San Lorenzo de las Arenas. To the east are Jafre and Garrigoles, and to the west Sant Jordi Desvalls and Gaüses (term of Vilopriu).
