Clariana de Cardener
Clariana de Cardener has historically been a transit point between Cardona and Solsona. This fact has given it a certain importance over the centuries, since in addition, the Negre and Cardener rivers also pass through, which facilitated communications. In this way, it is not strange that Clariana de Cardener hides many places within its area that are worth a visit to discover its natural and architectural heritage.
On a hill above the Flotats plain, where the Cardener and Negre rivers converge, stand the remains of the old castle of Clariana, of which walls and a square tower over the old access portal are preserved. There is also the primitive parish of San Saturní de Clariana, in a dilapidated state. It is worth approaching to see the remains and also to contemplate its landscape.
Located in the course of the Cardener river, the impressive Buida-sacs mill stands out, a large building that shows that it was very active at the time. It was built between the 12th and 13th centuries. Two bridges are also worth mentioning over the Cardener river: the Buida-sacs bridge and the Canet mill bridge.
