Route of the historic neighborhoods in Castellví de Rosanes
If you like walking, but prefer to do so on routes with little slope, the best option is to walk the path that goes from the town square of Castellví de Rosanes to the historic neighborhoods of Miralles and Àngels. The path will take you down Avenida de la Mare de Déu de Montserrat. You will pass in front of the terminus cross, through one of the two Balcones de Montserrat, and once you have crossed the road you will continue down with Montserrat in front and you will begin to walk between cultivated areas: vineyards, olive trees... A detour to the left will take you It will lead to the Camino de los Pobres and the neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Every beginning of August, this neighborhood hosts a meeting that is part of the most deeply rooted traditions of the municipality. That day you can enjoy the interior of the chapel and participate in all the activities that are scheduled. On other days, you can view the complex from outside. The current building, which dates back to 1740 and has undergone some renovations since then, occupies the space of a previous construction, since it is known that the veneration of the Virgin of the Angels in this place dates back to the beginning of the 13th century. This chapel served as the parish of Castellví de Rosanes since the early 19th century. XVIII to the middle of the 20th century.
From Los Ángeles you will go up the road that goes to the Rosanes industrial estate and from there, you will take another road towards the Miralles neighborhood, which is a short distance away. In Miralles, you can discover the impressive old Augustinian convent that in 2014 was declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest for the Gothic paintings preserved inside. From time to time, and as part of a guided outing, the site opens its doors so that the paintings can be admired live. Currently the space is a day center and residence for people with functional diversity. Next to the old convent, along a small path that goes down between leafy trees, you will find the Fonts de Miralles, a fresh and picturesque space where there are three fountains decorated with traditional ceramics. Respect the environment as you pass, do not leave trash and take care of the vegetation and heritage elements that you will find along the route.
Once you have visited the Miralles neighborhood, you will cross it in an upward direction and the path will take you back towards the town, passing through a small stretch of forest. Now, if you prefer, once you are in front of the old convent, you can go down and not up. Go under the highway and turn right, heading east. The path will take you through agricultural plains to the area of Ca n'Abat and just in front of the house you will find a path that goes up again towards the town, where you will find the beginning of the route that you had taken just before turning onto the road. of the poor.
