Route between the Balcones de Montserrat and other Castellví de Rosanes trails
The view that Castellví de Rosanes has over the Montserrat mountain is unique, and to contemplate it in its maximum splendor, the municipality has two privileged 'Balconies': one, located right at the entrance of the town and the other, in the forest, which is reached with a walk suitable for all ages.
The first balcony, wide and with benches to sit on, is at the bottom of the avenue. Virgen de Montserrat and you will see it right when you enter the town. To reach the second, from the Plaza del Roure you must take the path that goes into the forest. The route can be done in a circular way, and reach the balcony either from the top or from the bottom. Once there, you will have magnificent views over Montserrat from the Balcony, which is shaped like a cantilever over the slope of the land. On the left you will have Penedès, and on the right, if the day is clear, La Mola. On autumn and winter days, when there is less haze, it is easy to see the Pre-Pyrenees through the Llobregat valley, to the right of Montserrat.
When going or returning, at the bottom of the route you can see numerous dry stone margins and an old stone hut that was used years ago by the peasantry.
To comfortably follow the route between the two Balconies, you can use the QR code that you will find on the information panel in the town square or the link that you will find on the municipal website.
Soon, this route will also be marked on the ground in case you want to leave your cell phone in your pocket to enjoy a walk with 100% disconnection. Respect the environment as you pass, do not leave trash and take care of the vegetation and heritage elements that you will find along the route.
Finally, if you prefer more high-flying adventures, from the entrance of the town or from the information panel in the square you can follow the indications for the route of the Eje de poniente del Llobregat, a magnificent route to do on foot or by bicycle that It links the Montserrat mountain with the Mediterranean Sea, and crosses the entire area of Castellví de Rosanes, from the plains of Anoia to the highest part, which touches Corbera de Llobregat.
Both the Balcones de Montserrat and the Eje de poniente are part of regional projects coordinated by the Baix Llobregat Tourism Consortium and extensive information can be found on their website.
