Castell de Mur

Castell de Mur is a municipality in the Jussà Pallars. Born of the union of two former municipalities Guardia de Tremp and   Mur   and sheltering a large municipality. Besides, Castell de Mur hosts a series of villages:

Cellers: where are the ruins of the monastery of   San Miguel de Cellers   and the beach cave where archaeological remains have been found of great value.

Collmorter: conveniently situation as it is at a fairly high level allowing you to have a good view of the two presiding mountain slopes.

Guardia de Noguera: has a number of stately homes and even palaces showing heyday he lived the territory between 1550 and 1750.

The Meüll: consists of a handful of houses scattered through the surrounding valleys, above which is the Meüll Castle, recently rebuilt.

Puigmaçana: it is located in a large and flat, which meant it was very useful for cultivation.

Santa Lucía de Mur: it was well known for the Feast of Santa Lucia, where people came throughout the region related to needle work: tailors, dressmakers, etc..

Within the town of Castell de Mur include building up the Mur Castle itself, which still remains today. It is located in the mountain range that makes your walls are very spectacular, as they are considered some of the highest built in a high place. We also find the church of Santa María de Mur which had more than 15 churches in the vicinity, but that was depopulated in the early twentieth century.
