Canet d'Adri

Canet d'Adri is located north of San Gregorio and share with this high plains that make plain the plain Canet and Cartellà Montcal. Its municipal area is 44.4 km2 and comprises the core of Canet d 'Adri capital that gives the name, and the old towns and parishes Adri, BIERT, Montbo, Rocacorba Montcal and currently uninhabited. The mountain that magnifies not only the relief of this town, but it provides one of the most celebrated pictures in the Girona region is undoubtedly Rocacorba massif, with the peak of the same name 985 m.

The landscape is articulated by farmhouses, some with significant architectural value, often small vilars around a church reference. This type of landscape integration provides a high historical value in terms of social and economic structuring of the territory of Canet d'Adri.

Unlike the other three municipalities of the valley, Canet d'Adri is watered by Llémena but for his tributary, the stream of Canet. Between waterfalls include the Font de la Torre, a set of puddles and potholes provides one of the most unique places in this geography.

The Valley Llémena

Llémena Valley is one of the best preserved in the province of Girona and just steps from the city of natural places Girona . Straddling two counties, between the Alt Empordà and Garrotxa , and with an area of 184 km2, the valley is named after the creek Llémena, emblematic element and territorial cohesion, which runs through the valley from the headwaters to its mouth at the Ter, passing by Sant Gregori . Distributed along Llémena Valley, from west to east, are up to six volcanoes. Medes Puig, Puig Moner, Granollers Rocacorba, Horn of Boc Puig, Puig Clot Omer and d Adri These volcanic manifestations frame within the Catalan volcanic field that showed activity from 14 million years ago to almost only 10,000 years.

Llémena Valley has three spaces that belong to the Plan for Areas of Natural Interest (PEIN) Rocacorba Mountain, the volcanic mountain of Mount Horn of Boc and saw windows belonging to the volcanic area of Garrotxa. In addition, the Puig d'Adri volcano, volcanoes Clot del Puig de Omer and Boc Horn, are included in the inventory of areas of geological interest.
