Camarles
The municipality of Camarles is known as Balcón del Delta and is part of the Parque Natural del Delta del Ebro (Parque Natural del Delta del Ebro). The urban nucleus forms an island surrounded by fields of rice crops, a true hallmark and economic pillar of the population. It adjoins the terms of L'Aldea, Deltebre, L'Ampolla and Tortosa and in fact it has been an independent municipality since 1978 when it was separated from the capital of Baix Ebre.
It has two medieval towers of great interest, testimony to its privileged geographical location, and it recently has a modern rice interpretation center where you can learn about the history of this crop so closely linked to the Ebro delta. With an ideal climate, it is a destination where you can enjoy the products of its local gastronomy such as rice, olive oil, oranges or rice sausage.
