Alt Àneu
Thousand-year-old tradition, very rich historical heritage and incomparable natural setting: these are the centers of attraction of the eight villages of the municipality of Alt Àneu that constitute the very essence of the extensive valleys of Àneu, in the heart of the Pyrenees, right next to the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. Small towns that have managed to preserve the traditional structure of the Pyrenees without giving up the modernization that is synonymous with quality of life in a privileged environment.
From the top of a hill, the castle of Valencia de Àneu watches over the immense valley, cradle of a valuable heritage of Romanesque art, surprising ancestral traditions orchestrated by fire, and elements of Iberian-Basque origin reflected in the names of towns such as Àrreu. Borén, Isavarre, Isil… Characteristics that make Alt Àneu an authentic territory that recalls its past without giving up modernity.
