Alguaire
Second municipality of the Segrià region in terms of extension, Alguaire has important remains of the medieval past and is the capital of the fig. This fruit is the star product of the biennial fair that is held in the municipality and that publicizes its gastronomic properties.
The most emblematic places in the municipality are the Sacred Heart and the high medieval necropolis of the Rocks of Son Roig (7th-9th centuries).
Algaire is also a municipality with an intense cultural activity, articulated around the figure of its illustrious son Josep Lladonosa, distinguished historian born in 1907. In memory of this figure, the municipality organizes a local history award every year and, every two years,, a crowded international conference on agrarian culture, social organization and local power.
