Alt Camp
A land is privileged if it has the sea nearby (in Alt Camp carob trees grow, the tree that needs to see the sea to bear fruit), if the mountain protects it from the north wind and if a vast and fertile plain is watered by two rivers. If you add to all this an active and lively capital, but not excessively large; twenty-three municipalities, a decentralized municipal entity and some other eminently agricultural towns; no trace of overcrowding; a Cistercian monastery and a landscape that the poet, perhaps out of nostalgia, baptized as the Catalan Tuscany, here you have Alt Camp; you will not find another land like this.
Don't miss the Santes Creus monastery, the Cistercian jewel with an enchanting light; the Archpriest Church of Sant Joan, a Gothic temple that houses a magnificent collection of baroque sculpture; the Romanesque church of Sant Ramon del Pla de Santa Maria, the most beautiful in the region; the Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de Montserrat de Montferr i, emblematic work of the architect Josep M. Jujol; the Roser de Valls Chapel, with the tile panels commemorating the Battle of Lepanto, unique in the world; the Hermitage of Roser de Vallmoll, another work by Jujol, with an almost unknown Renaissance altarpiece; the Church of Sant Jaume de Bràfim, with a baroque organ and main altarpiece; the Nulles Wine Cathedral, the magnificent winery of the architect Cèsar Martinell, the most beautiful of all; the Columbarium of Vila-rodona, a unique Roman funerary monument in the world, and the Ermita del Remei de Alcover, the gateway to the capricious nature that surrounds the Glorieta River.
Do you want more? You are in the plaza de los castells, in the birthplace of the Xiquets de Valls, km 0 of the human tower world; in the land where calçotada was born; in the streets where Narcís Oller, Jaume Mercadé, Carles Cardó, Robert Gerhard, Cèsar Martinell were born...
Stay for a few days, stroll through its streets, go into the shops, some of which are unique in the country, and enjoy our restaurants, the best among the best.
