The third edition of the Catalonia Microtown Fair is coming to Bot!
The municipality of Bot will host the third edition of the Microtowns Fair of Catalonia, organized by the Association of Microtowns of Catalonia, on Saturday, November 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as part of the Seasons Cycle that is held in the town.
More than twenty towns with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants from all over Catalonia will meet in Terra Alta to present projects, activities and their tourist and cultural offerings, among other proposals. There will also be tastings of products from the Terra Alta Oil PDO and Terra Alta Wine PDO, as well as presentations and concerts that will round off the day.
Under the motto "Som batec rural" (We are rural heartbeat), the Association of Microtowns of Catalonia is once again organizing the Fair of Microtowns of Catalonia. Bot will be the microtown host of the event, which will bring together 24 Town Councils from the four Catalan demarcations on Saturday 16 November 2024.
Each micro-village will have its own stand where local products will be displayed, as well as projects in areas such as education, economic promotion, housing, cultural offerings, heritage and tourism.
The municipalities participating this year are: Almatret, Arnes, Bot, Castellfollit de la Roca, Castellolí, Freginales, La Granadella, La Torre de Fontaubella, Montoliu de Lleida, Pinell de Brai, Pinoso, Planoles, Pradell de la Teixeta, Prat de Conde, Rasquera, Riner, San Miguel de Campmajor, Susqueda, Tiurana, Torrebesses, Torre-serona, Vallfogona de Ripollès, Vilalba dels Arcs and Vinebre.
Among the activities highlighted in Bot, there will be the presentation of the Transhumant project of Itinerant and Committed Cinema, a concert of glosses by the Cor de Carxofa group, and tastings of products from the DOP Terra Alta Oil and DO Terra Alta Wines.
In addition, products and tourist attractions from Vinebre, cheeses from Rasquera and artisan products from Vallfogona de Ripollès, such as sausages and wooden and wicker items, will be presented. Throughout the weekend, you can also enjoy the activities of the Seasons Cycle, promoted by Bot, which includes the presentation of the new wine and the new oil from Agrícola St. José. The closing concert of the Itinera Festival will close the fair.
The Association of Microtowns of Catalonia launched this initiative, with the aim of bringing the diversity and reality of towns with less than a thousand inhabitants in Catalonia closer to the public. At the same time, the Association also seeks to make the Fair a meeting place that encourages knowledge between municipalities. The aim is to make the reality of the rural world visible to show citizens that they can find a way of life.
Come, discover and fall in love with micro-village life!
