"La Vendimia del Cava" is back with activities for all audiences
The programme will start at the end of August and will last throughout the month of September. Twenty wineries in Alt Penedès, Alella and Conca de Barberà will offer wine tourism activities linked to the grape harvest.
For five weekends, the Catalan cava-producing regions will celebrate the harvest season at the 19th edition of La Vendimia del Cava. The Cava Producers Association (AECAVA) has published the programme of activities for this festival, which this year will take place in twenty wineries associated with the cava association.
From August 31 to September 29, each winery will offer original experiences, both during the day and after dark. Led by the winery managers, winegrowers, oenologists and wine tourism experts, visitors will be able to visit the vineyards to experience first-hand one of the most special times of our region, the grape harvest.
In this ninth edition, the project confirms the wineries' commitment to wine tourism and will allow visitors to experience and learn about the environment in which cava is born and produced. The activities, always small-scale, will show the secrets of cava production with activities for all audiences and suggestive proposals that will seek to satisfy all tastes. For a whole month, this already consolidated initiative will offer a wide range of experiences.
During the Cava Harvest, visitors will be able to enjoy an extensive programme of activities such as treading grapes and turning them into must, country breakfasts among the vineyards, gourmet picnics, nature outings on bicycles, live music concerts, lunches and dinners in the vineyards, wine tastings at different stages of fermentation, cava and cheese pairings, as well as activities for the little ones in the family.
This wine tourism proposal has become, over almost a decade, an unbeatable showcase of cava where the landscape, the gastronomy and the recreational nature of the activities have emerged as the protagonists. The wineries that make up the program of activities for the 2024 Cava Harvest are: Alta Alella, Canals & Munné, Carles Andreu, Cava Guilera, Caves Seta, Bodega Kripta, Codorníu, Covides, Giró del Gorner, Giró Ribot, Joan Segura Pujadas, Jovani Vins, Juvé & Camps, Masía Torreblanca, Miquel Pons, Labrador Entrena, Sumarroca, Vilarnau and Vins el Cep. Most of these wineries are located in the Alt Penedès region, but there are also some in the Alella and Conca de Barberà regions.
You can check out the activities offered by the wineries and buy tickets on the official Cava Harvest website.
