Located in the highest part of the city of Tarragona, the Cathedral stands on the site where the temple of Augustus of Roman Tarraco was located. The Cathedral has an exciting two-thousand-year-old history that you can experience firsthand and that will allow you to know in depth the historical stages that the cathedral complex has experienced and enjoy the impressive artistic heritage that is part of it.
This visit is carried out in a group and lasts approximately one and a half hours. It includes a visit to the central nave, with a Romanesque plan, which surprises with its luminosity, and highlights the impressive rose window on the main façade, in Gothic style, as well as the magnificent Renaissance organ and the detailed Gothic altarpiece of the main altar. The guided tour continues through the largest Romanesque cloister in Catalonia and the rooms of the Diocesan Museum with its collection of medieval and modern art, and also includes the archaeological itinerary, which allows you to see the perimeter wall of the imperial enclosure of Tarraco.
Schedule: Saturday at 12 noon.
