Adventure and active tourism returns to the regions of Lleida
The regions of the Lleida demarcation are recognized for the great offer of nature activities, a privileged landscape environment and a unique cultural and gastronomic heritage.
Spring marks the kick-off of the season of adventure sports and active tourism, an area in which the demarcation of Lleida has established itself as an indisputable benchmark throughout the State, with 228 companies distributed throughout the 13 regions of Lleida that They offer around fifty different water, land or air activities.
The Lleida regions continue to represent one of the best active tourism and adventure sports offers in Spain and a benchmark in water activities (rafting, canyoning...), land (hiking, trekking, mountain biking, via ferratas, activities various in the ski resorts in summer, etc, and horseback riding, among others) and air (paragliding, hang gliding, etc.).
The Noguera Ribagorçana, Noguera Pallaresa, Garona and Segre rivers have for years been ideal places in the Lleida regions for practicing a multitude of aquatic modalities, both in whitewater and in calm waters. In addition to active and adventure tourism, it should be noted that the Noguera Pallaresa -considered one of the best rivers in Europe for the exercise of whitewater sports- and the Segre are the venues of various state and international competitions.
In the Lleida regions you can practice different water sports such as rafting, kayaking, canyoning, hydrospeed, whitewater canoes, calm water canoes, underwater, water skiing, motorboat, windsurfing, Ultratube (inflatable donuts), canoes, hydrospeed, boats walking and water trekking.
Rafting is the king of sports in the whitewater modality, but other disciplines such as canoeing, hydrospeed, kayaking, e'hidrotrineo, canyoning, inflatable canoes and hydrobob also stand out.
Now, if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, in the Lleida regions, both in the plains and in the mountains, you will enjoy an extensive network of hiking routes with tourist, sports and nature routes, of variable difficulty and suitable to do on foot and / or mountain bike.
Letting yourself be enveloped by the magic of majestic and exuberant landscapes, discovering places that are part of our history, enjoying accommodation and top-quality gastronomy at a slow pace, step by step, is possible in the Lleida regions thanks to practice of hiking, a tourist trend that has a great future path.
In the Pyrenees and the Lands of Lleida, fans of cycling also have hundreds of kilometers in the area as a whole, complemented by 6 approved BTT centers, with a large number of information points, as well as different circular routes that guarantee a unique experience for cycling in any of its modalities, such as cycling, sports cycling and mountain biking.
For those who love climbing, in the Lleida regions you will find via ferrata and climbing routes, with areas with different levels of difficulty. Places such as Vilanova de Meià, Terradets, Collegats, the Cavallers reservoir in the Boí Valley, Sant Llorenç de Montgai, Camarasa or the Oliana area, which has the honor of having the most difficult sport climbing route in the world, where the Rumbau buttress is located.
The feeling of taking off. Get to know Lleida from the sky. This is how more and more people decide to enjoy the sensations of flying through the sky of Lleida. Paragliding and hang gliding have established themselves as the emblematic manifestations of air activities in the Lleida regions. The municipality of Àger, at the foot of the Montsec mountain range, has become in recent years the nerve center of these disciplines, since each year it hosts several national and international championships.
In addition to the Montsec mountain range, air sports can be practiced in the Organyà valleys, in the Alt Urgell region.
