The Vilas Floridas project is an initiative promoted by the Confederation of Ornamental Horticulture of Catalonia (CHOC) with the aim of promoting the conversion of corners, towns and cities in Catalonia and Andorra into urban environments and green gardens.
This movement aims to show and highlight the natural and landscape beauty of the territory through the recognition of all those projects that involve the creation of urban green areas, urban furniture and recreational spaces, whether in the public or private sphere, as examples to follow.

Vilas Floridas considers that landscaping is not limited only to the creation of pleasant environments, but also encompasses a series of important values.
This initiative seeks to promote the protection of green spaces, improve the quality of life of residents, maintain and conserve street furniture, provide children's play areas, promote social awareness towards environmental sustainability policies and promote the development of economies. local through the attractiveness of urban gardens and parks.
In addition to municipalities, which can get involved institutionally, any group, company or individual with an interest in nature and the care of green spaces can participate. Parks, schools, leisure centers, businesses, campsites, hotels, restaurants and even individuals with balconies or terraces can join Vilas Floridas and contribute to this cause.

Vilas Floridas, a recognition of the work of the municipalities to improve urban space
A specialized jury, made up of experts in nursery, gardening, landscaping, street furniture and other related fields, is in charge of certifying and renewing these distinctions annually.
The "Flor de Honor", which can be awarded on a scale of ten to five flowers, is what certifies municipalities as "Vilas Floridas".
