Verbena of Saint John in Castelló d'Empúries

Castelló d'Empúries celebrates the festival of San Juan with the arrival of the Canigó Flame!

The events will begin with a choral concert, an event that will bring together different groups and fill one of the municipality's heritage sites with voices and melodies. It's an opportunity to enjoy choral singing and the region's rich musical heritage in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The eve of Saint John's Day will have a distinctly maritime and festive character. Habaneras will kick off an afternoon full of excitement, before the arrival of the Flame of Canigó, one of the most symbolic moments of the celebration. The gathering will continue with cake and sweet wine for everyone, reinforcing the community spirit of this deeply rooted festival.

The Flame will be carried to the beach area, where the Sant Joan bonfire will be lit. The fire, a symbol of renewal and the beginning of summer, will usher in a fantastic night of music with live concerts, a festive atmosphere, and plenty of dancing. A spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky, transforming the night into a vibrant and exciting experience.

The program will be completed with a sardana performance, keeping alive one of the most representative expressions of Catalan popular culture.
