Three Tombs in Pinell de Brai

The festivity in honor of Sant Antoni has already begun the second month of celebrations of the Tres Tombs.

During the winter months, muleteers and their decorated carts and carriages pulled by horses, mules and donkeys take to the streets of dozens of towns throughout Catalonia. For the first time, El Pinell de Brai, a small town in the Terra Alta region, will celebrate the first Tres Tombs with the hope and certainty that this tradition is well-rooted and that its continuity is guaranteed.

The tradition consists of having a parade of cars and animals and going around the town where the festival is celebrated three times. Over the years, especially after the industrial revolution, animals and mainly horses have stopped being the great agricultural workers, giving way to tractors and other machinery.
