"The Cabrera vescomtat revolt" in Arbúcies

The viscounty of Cabrera has revolted against the troops of King Pere el Ceremoniós, who have occupied the Arbúcies valley and want to conquer the castle of Montsoriu. Farmers, artisans, soldiers, nobles... Live and participate in this journey through time.

The plot of these days of historical reenactment revolve around the events that took place nearly 650 years ago in the Arbúcies valley in the historical context of the revolt of the Viscounty of Cabrera following the execution of Viscount Bernat II at the hands of the royal authorities. These events had great significance throughout the Arbúcies valley and ended with the famous siege of Montsoriu castle by royal troops, 1,200 men, between the years 1367 and 1368.

These medieval days will be organized around two axes. The first, the royal camp, where visitors will be able to see and participate in a set of activities along the route (the troop tents, training, the construction of siege engines, the work of the armorer, the kitchen, the combat...). The second, the Cabrera Space of the Montseny Ethnological Museum, where there will be a series of activities, such as: the medieval calligraphy workshop, ' Scriptorium', the following talks: The Viscounts of Cabrera. The power of a great lineage, Ladies of Montsoriu. Politics and power in the hands of women in medieval times, and Montsoriu 3D. Research and new technologies in a pioneering project.
