The Pastorets of Valls

The Pastorets de Valls return, faithful to tradition, with the unforgettable characters of Garrafó and Fredolic and the shepherdesses Mariana and Sulina. This Christmas performance, aimed at family audiences, combines biblical scenes and comic moments, becoming a unique and endearing experience for spectators of all ages.

With a new staging year after year, the show stands out for its live orchestra, which accompanies the actors with a musical repertoire well-known by the people of Vallecas. The verses and speeches, often satirical, refer to issues of politics, society and local life, bringing a touch of current events and humour to the work.

The demons, led by Satan and Lucifer, star in some of the most anticipated scenes, while the shepherds, with their characteristic purple berets from Camp de Tarragona, guide the viewer through this classic story.

With a history that has its origins in the theatrical work of the Valles of the 20th century, the Pastorets have become a reference in Catalonia, both for their quality and for their capacity as a theatrical school, involving each year some eighty actors and technicians. This is, without a doubt, one of the most relevant theatrical proposals of the Christmas season in the regions of Tarragona.
