Saint Anthony Abbot in La Llacuna

La Llacuna celebrates the traditional festival in honor of Saint Anthony Abbot with the blessing of the flag and animals, and afterwards the blessed bread rolls will be distributed.

The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a very special activity: an exhibition of old photographs that will allow visitors to discover or remember what the Tres Tombs festival in La Laguna was like in the past. This visual collection offers a glimpse into the town's history and its connection to working animals and rural traditions. In addition, a video compilation of the Tres Tombs festival will be shown, providing an opportunity to relive emblematic moments of this deeply rooted local celebration.

The highlight of the morning will be at 12:00, with the traditional blessing of the animals, which will take place at Cal Magí Ferriol. Everyone is invited to participate by bringing their animals: horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, and other pets. It is a symbolic and moving ceremony that celebrates the role of animals in daily life, both historically and today.

This celebration is also a great opportunity to share a pleasant time with the community. Therefore, the organizers will offer coca (a type of flatbread) and hot chocolate to all attendees, a touch that will help create an even more welcoming and festive atmosphere.

The activity is organized by the Horsemen of La Laguna, with the collaboration of the La Laguna City Council, who continue working to keep traditions alive and encourage the participation of residents and visitors.

It will be a morning to enjoy local culture, animals, and the history of the town. A perfect opportunity to reconnect, remember the past, and celebrate together a tradition that is part of La Laguna's identity.
