Montgai (Butsènit d'Urgell)

The Three Tombs of Butsènit de Urgell (Montgai) are celebrated every January 17!

Every year, for Sant Antoni Abat, people who want to bless their pets and vehicles (cars and agricultural machinery), clean, groom and decorate them. And around 1 pm, they meet in Cal Rei to walk around the entire town three times, stopping each time in front of the Cal Fuster bar, where the priest stands to perform the blessings.

The Festival of Sant Antoni or Tres Tombs is the most celebrated festival in all Catalan-speaking territories. It is the quintessential winter festival, a prelude to carnival, and is an important celebration in countries of Christian influence.
