Renaissance Festival in Tortosa
During the second half of July Tortosa celebrates the Renaissance Festival. With the subtitle the splendor of a city in the 16th century, the Festival recalls, through a wide range of recreational and cultural activities, the historical period of the 16th century, one of the most interesting moments in the existence of the city..
Sheltered by the rich patrimonial, artistic and cultural legacy of the 16th century, each year they can be transported to a world of smells, flavors and customs that have already disappeared. The old town is transformed, noble buildings and centuries-old walls are exuberantly adorned while the citizens finish building their taverns, preparing the workshops and wearing their period costumes.
Artists, musicians and globetrotters from all over bring life to the streets and enliven the city's palaces and noble buildings with shows and performances.
A perfect excuse to enjoy a few days of partying and to discover the rich historical, cultural and landscape heritage of Tortosa and the south of Catalonia.
