Presentation of the book "La terra dura" by Anna Punsoda in Concabella

24/02/2024
Els Plans de Sió (Castell de Concabella)

The writer from Concabella Anna Punsoda will present the book "La terra dura. Return to the heart of Catalonia" (Pòrtic, 2023) this Saturday, February 24, at 6:30 p.m., at the Castell de Concabella.

The event will be led by Maria Garganté, professor of art history at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Antoni Gaudí Faculty and, according to Punsoda, "a very important cultural sniper in La Segarra."

The writer Anna Punsoda returns to the landscape of her childhood, the Plans de Sió, in the Segarra region. And he does it in a very different way than when he left. She has cleaned up, she has started a family and is in a position to return to her world, fix up a house, settle in with her Barcelona husband and watch her children grow up. Punsoda tries to understand its relationship with this harsh, geographically central and at the same time very ignored land, which today appears on our mental map thanks to the BonÀrea food corporation of Guissona.

Through historical research, conversations with neighbors and direct experience, Anna Punsoda weaves a very personal story about reconciliation with oneself and with the country we walk in as the only way to be free and make a valuable contribution in the world.

Anna Punsoda (Concabella, 1985) has a degree in journalism from the Ramon Llull University and in philosophy from the University of Barcelona, where she also completed the master's degree in Thought and Classical Studies. He has been dedicated to cultural journalism for more than fifteen years in various media, such as El País, the newspaper Ara, Nación Digital, Catalunya Ràdio, RAC1 or El Nacional.

He has published the novel Els llits dels altres (Amsterdam, 2018), which earned him the Roc Boronat award, and the essay La luxúria (Fragmenta, 2020). Among the authors he has translated from German, Rilke, Kafka and Lou Andreas-Salomé stand out. Currently, she is an editor at Fragmenta Editorial and Dialogal magazine.
