Villa de Gironella Poetry Festival

The Vila de Gironella Poetry Festival was born in 2015 with the intention of bringing and making poetry known in the region, with a clear intention of covering a cultural space that until then did not exist. Its programming is concentrated during the months of October and November. It is organized by the CalamArts ink Association with the collaboration of the Gironella City Council and the Gironella Library.

It has a diversity of artistic forms to show poetry in all its dimensions: recitals, workshops for children and adults, music concerts, exhibitions, artistic actions and everything related to poetry.

For the organization of the recitals, which is the most visible part of the programming, it is always taken into account that there is an equitable proportion of the most prominent authors of Catalan poetry as well as the participation of local authors and those from around the region.

The intention of the organizing association is to reach all audience profiles, which is why since its inception the festival has been expanding the number and types of activities thinking about the widest range of society: primary school students, high school youth, people senior of the Residence, and the general public who attends the Festival programming.
