Night of Bats in Fogars de la Selva

Night comes and it seems that time stops. Apparently, everything seems calm, asleep, waiting for the first rays of dawn to give way, once again, to movement. But the night hides a lot of life! Raise your head and you will see what a crowd of bats are hovering over you! Would you like to know more about these unknown flying mammals? Get ready, Bat Night is coming!

The Night of Bats will consist of a talk and a short night walk.

During the talk, they will explain everything about the biology of bats, how they behave, what they feed on, what the main species are and what their role is in the ecosystem. At the end, you will take a path near the Tordera River and, accompanied by an expert guide, you will observe and listen to them. Yes, yes, you heard it right, you will be able to hear them! This will be thanks to a sound transformer device, which converts the ultrasonic cries emitted by bats to a sound frequency that humans can hear. Depending on the pattern of sounds, you can tell if they are hunting, orienting themselves, pairing... You can even identify the species based on the sound frequency emitted.
