Sant Pere de Vilamajor celebrates the National Day of Catalonia!

The Diada of September 11th, commemorating the end of the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714, is declared the National Day of Catalonia. On this day, various institutional events and demonstrations are organized, and it is also a public holiday throughout Catalonia.

At 12 noon, the institutional events of the Diada will be held in the Rector's Office:

Welcome and speeches, floral offering, singing of the Senyera and singing of Els Segadors.
Next up, music and popular vermouth.

The Diada commemorates the events of September 11, 1714, when Bourbon troops conquered Barcelona and ended the War of the Spanish Succession. This date symbolizes the loss of Catalan freedoms and institutions.
