National Day of Catalonia at the Hostalets of Pierola

The Hostalets de Pierola celebrates Catalonia's National Day once again!

The Diada of September 11, in commemoration of the end of the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714, is declared a National Day of Catalonia. Various institutional events and demonstrations are held on this day, and it is also a public holiday throughout Catalonia.

The events will begin on Wednesday, September 10th, in Plaça dels Països Catalans with the official ceremony, followed at 8:00 p.m. by a spectacular human tower performance by the Moixiganguers of Igualada and the Colla Jove de Castellers de Sitges in front of the Torre del Sr. Enrique. At the end, in Plaça Dr. Conde, there will be a talk and discussion on the rise of human tower groups. The day will culminate with the Diada dinner on Església Street, with popular tickets.

On Thursday the 11th, at 12:00 noon, there will be a balloon display at the Serra Alta sports centre, and the bus will also depart for the Barcelona demonstration, organised by the local ANC.

On Friday the 12th, at 8:00 pm, the Teatro del Casal Català will host the dance performance by Ístanbuldans Spor Kulübü (Turkey), as part of the 53rd International Folklore Days of Catalonia. The weekend will be full of excitement: on Saturday the 13th, in the morning , the Gaïofa Fest, a family music festival, will take place, and at 2:00 pm, the Senior Citizens' Members' Party and dance will be held.

On Sunday the 14th, at 6:30 p.m., the Cal Figueres Auditorium will host the play “Pompeu Fabra s'escriu amb ce trencada”, with tickets at popular prices.
