Mountain Racing in Lluçanès

Lovers of mountain races have an appointment in Lluçanès this 2024. 4 races, 4 months, 4 municipalities and many kilometers to run in the middle of beautiful serene landscapes. Tracks, trails, roads, forests, climbs, hills and mountains await you!

The first mountain race will start on March 10 in Olost. This is the VIII edition of San Isidret. It consists of two races (a short one of 13km and a long one of 22km ) with different male and female categories and a local category in each race, and a team category between the two races; as well as a 13km walk. The race offers different services to participants: Runner's bag, material raffles, physiotherapy service, ambulance; photos and/or videos, WC , cloakroom and parking for motorhomes. This race is scored by the Osoning Cup.

It will be followed by the 2nd oldest race in Catalonia, on April 21. It is the 3 Regions Race, in Alpens, which reaches its 33rd edition. It offers two races (a short one of 12.5km and a long one of 24.5km ) and considerable slopes, in the middle of trails, forests and spectacular natural landscapes of three different regions. It has different categories for men, women and teams. It offers brokerage services, ambulance, photos and/or videos, changing rooms and showers, WC, cloakroom, possibility of accommodation and motorhome parking. The day before, April 20, the children's races are held.

On May 5, Via Castrum will return, in Santa Eulalia de Puig-oriol ( Lluçà ), with the 8th edition. Made up of two races (a short one of 12.5km and a long one of 23km ) with interesting slopes, and a 12.5km walk that will cover emblematic places in the municipality . A whole experience where you can participate in different categories: junior, senior, veteran, master and teams and will offer runners: runner bag, ambulance, photos and/or videos, changing rooms, toilets and material raffle. This race is also scored by the Osoning Cup.

The Lluçanès mountain racing cycle closes with the Cross de Sant Joan, in Prats de Lluçanès, on June 24. Framed within the town's San Juan and Elois Festivals, it consists of a 6km race with little gradient, as well as several children's races with distances by age that range between 200m and 2km. The race is mixed and participants participate in different categories, general, sub15, sub18, senior, veteran and master. There will also be a trophy for the first local runner. The race offers: runner bag, ambulance, photos and/or videos, changing rooms and showers, toilet, and motorhome area.
