Miquelets Festival in Olesa de Montserrat

This October The Miquelets Festival returns to Olesa de Montserrat in a new edition! Three days full of talks, market, performances, visits and, above all, historical recreations.

Among the most notable activities, we can find the Great Battle on Saturday afternoon, the Popular Dinner that same night or the guided tours that will take place throughout Saturday and Sunday morning.

Olesa becomes the scene of the War of Succession (1705-1714), recreating the events that took place in the town of Olesa de Montserrat during the conflict. Meeting point and strategic place, Olesa had a castle and hospital and was located near the Bourbon barracks of Martorell and the royal road of Esparreguera, in addition to being halfway to Manresa in Barcelona.

The Miquelets were elite units, genuinely Catalan, specialized in ambush operations. Thanks to their knowledge of the terrain, their mobility and their weapons, they became a nightmare for their opponents.
