Miquelets Festival in Olesa de Montserrat
This October, the Miquelets Festival in Olesa de Montserrat is back with a new edition full of activities! From 11 to 13 October, enjoy three days full of talks, a baroque market, workshops, guided tours and, above all, spectacular historical recreations of the War of Succession.
The festival highlights include the Grand Battle on Saturday afternoon, the Popular Dinner the same evening, and guided tours that will be offered throughout the weekend.
Olesa becomes the backdrop for the War of Succession, reliving crucial events in the town with its strategic position during the conflict. The town, equipped with a castle and a hospital, was a key location near the Bourbon headquarters of Martorell and on the main route between Manresa and Barcelona.
The Miquelets, elite Catalan units specialising in ambush tactics, play a central role in the re-enactments. Known for their ability to use the terrain to their advantage, they were decisive in many confrontations.
