Lleida May Festival 2024
Battle of flowers, giants, Lo Marraco, correfocs, concerts... and much more!
The Lleida May Festival is celebrated in honor of Sant Anastasi (May 11), a Roman soldier son of Lleida who was martyred in Badalona by order of Diocletian in 303.
Of the extensive program of popular activities, the spectacular floral offering to the patron saint and the battle of flowers that take place on the same day, May 11, in the morning and in the afternoon respectively, stand out. Multiple floats parade along the Ferran boulevard, whose occupants fight with the public with confetti and streamers.
The constant presence of the city's emblematic dragon, Lo Marraco, and the oldest giant couple in Catalonia, Marc Antoni and Cleopatra (built in 1840) is another attraction.
The local festival ends as it begins: with a splendid fireworks display on the left bank of the River Segre.
Do not miss it!
