Living Nativity Scene of Corbera de Llobregat

Who hasn't heard of the Living Nativity Scene in Corbera? The town is a landmark during the Christmas season for its live reenactment of the birth of Jesus in a manger, which has become an intangible cultural heritage and one of the most important and visited nativity scenes in all of Catalonia. This famous nativity scene has been performed since 1962 and is one of the oldest in the country.

More than 200 actors bring to life the characters in each scene of the Nativity scene, set against the incomparable natural landscape of Penya del Corb. You can walk the 700 meters of this Nativity scene and mingle with the living figures that participate in it, such as the angel of the Annunciation, the shepherds, the washerwomen, the Baby Jesus and the Holy Family of Nazareth, merchants, and people performing various trades.

The old dream of being able to stroll through the Mossy Nativity Scene, among forests, rivers and living figures, surrounded by cliffs and bonfires with shepherds and young boys sleeping under the open sky... The Annunciation, the shepherds with their flock, the Catalan farmhouse, the hayloft, the cave, the appearance of the Angel, the Three Kings, the flight to Egypt, the town of Nazareth with its market and artisans, the blacksmith at work, the children making the Tió defecate...

History

The Living Nativity Scene of Corbera de Llobregat was born on December 24, 1962, in the natural setting of the Penya del Corb. Promoted by the Amics de Corbera association, after the success of its floats in the Mercè festivities of Barcelona, it became a Christmas tradition with a distinctive feature: the public walks among the living figures and participates in the atmosphere of the Nativity Scene, accompanied by a narration based on the Gospel texts, prose and popular poetry.

With over 2,650 performances and a million visitors, the Nativity Scene has welcomed numerous personalities from the cultural, political, and social spheres. For more than sixty years, it has helped to promote Corbera and has become an integral part of Christmas celebrations for its collaborators and visitors.

• Large families: €12/person over 6 years old.
• Single-parent families: €12/person over 6 years old.
• With a disability card of 50% or higher: €12/person over 6 years old.

• Free entry for residents of Corbera upon presentation of ID or municipal registration certificate.
• Free sessions for Super3 Club members (up to 14 years old): December 8, 25, 26 and 29, 2026 and January 1, 3 and 9, 2027.
