Holy Week in Tortosa 2024
Holy Week is one of the events of the year that most people take to the streets of Tortosa!
Tortosa is the setting for the most massive and spectacular events that make up Holy Week in Terres de l'Ebre.
Beyond the religious sense, many people go to see the processions, particularly that of the Passion or of Palm Sunday, the earliest in Catalonia, colorful and crowded, attracted by the atmosphere of seclusion that is breathed through the streets of the city, through which hundreds of penitents parade accompanying the eleven steps that illustrate the Passion and death of Jesus Christ.
The Association of Tortosa Holy Week Brotherhoods, made up of 10 brotherhoods and 11 steps, has the objective of coordinating the efforts and purpose of all the brotherhoods that are part of it to carry out the celebrations within Tortosa's Holy Week.
Culture, religiosity and heritage are intertwined in one of the most unique manifestations of our country.
We wait for you!
