Salou's main festival on October 30th

IMPORTANT NOTICE: SALOU'S MAIN FESTIVAL POSTPONED!

Salou Town Council has announced that the celebrations scheduled for 29, 30 and 31 October have been postponed following the railway accident and the three days of mourning declared by the Spanish government. The new schedule will be announced soon.

October 30th is a very symbolic date for the people of Salou, since, after 10 years of struggle and demands, and by Supreme Court ruling, autonomy as a municipality was achieved in 1989.

For both the youngest and the oldest, Salou dresses up to host one of the great celebrations of the year: the Fiesta Mayor on October 30th.

The program will feature a prominent presence of the festive entourage and elements of popular culture, with parades, giants, big-headed figures, traditional dances, and various fire-related activities. The correfoc (fire run) and children's activities will allow young and old alike to experience local traditions from different perspectives.

October 30th, the main day of the festival, will feature some of the most emblematic events. The day will include the commemorative planting of a tree, a community breakfast, a parade of festive decorations, a floral offering, and a large paella for everyone. The festivities will continue with music, dancing, and other activities until nightfall.

Throughout the days there will also be cultural activities, exhibitions, sporting events, workshops, shows, and initiatives designed especially for children. The celebration will extend beyond the main day with additional events that broaden the festive offerings.

The Fiesta Mayor on October 30th thus once again highlights the traditions, history and festive identity of Salou with a diverse program open to all ages.
