Get to know the Templar past of Puig-reig with the Templar Festival!

The Templars of Puig-reig became an important rural order of the Order of the Temple and that is why we say that Puig-reig is "the headquarters of the Templars in the Heart of Catalonia". During the summer solstice, the municipality recalls medieval times in the town with dozens of activities designed for all audiences, especially the family.

Craft fair, concerts, oriental dances, historical recreations, guided tours, medieval battles, torchlight and even a game of clues are just some of the activities offered throughout the weekend.

The Templars of Puig-reig inherited the castle of the municipality and other important possessions as a result of the will of the troubadour Guillem de Berguedà. During the 13th century, the Order of the Templars were lords of Berguedà and Cerdanya, being one of the only headquarters in the area, which brought them great economic and social benefits.
