Verbena of San Juan in Cubelles

The traditional San Juan festival in Cubelles is back!

The shortest night of the year will once again feature the Flame of Canigó, the lighting of the bonfire and the party in the Mercat square, in a celebration designed to be shared with family, friends and neighbors.

The day will begin with the arrival of the Flame of Canigó at Plaça de la Fita, carried by the Castellers del Foix. From there, the flame will continue its journey to Plaça de la Vila, where it will be received by the municipal authorities on behalf of the people of Cubelles.

A festive parade will then begin, featuring the Pubillatge (local festival committee), the Timbalers de Cubelles (drummers of Cubelles), and the Diablos (devils) of the Agrupación de Bailes Populares (folk dance group ), who will accompany the flame to the Plaça del Mercat (Market Square). There, the Diablos and the local authorities will light the bonfire, one of the most symbolic and eagerly awaited moments of the night.

The festivities will continue in the Mercat square, where tables and chairs will be set up for everyone to enjoy dinner outdoors in good company. Music will provide rhythm and a festive atmosphere until the early hours. A bar will also be available.

The City Council reminds everyone that the use of fireworks is limited to the nights of the festival and that they must be used responsibly, avoiding areas near homes, residences, gas stations and forest areas.

A night to celebrate San Juan with tradition, prudence and festivity.
