Sardana festival in Els Hostalets de Pierola
The sardana dance at Els Hostalets de Pierola will feature a live interpretation of one of the most historic songs in the country!
The sardana is a Catalan folk dance considered the national dance of Catalonia. It is a collective dance that men and women dance holding hands forming a circle, tapping the beats of the music played by the copla with their feet.
The sardana is made up of a certain succession of measures, each measure is a point or step to perform. The steps are grouped into runs of two types: short and long. A sardana to dance generally consists of ten runs.
