Major Festival of the Mare de Déu del Carme in Cambrils

Cambrils is now preparing for the Major Festival of the Mare de Déu del Carme.

For several days, the port district will host religious activities, popular culture, music and gastronomic offerings for all audiences.

The program will begin with a human tower display and a popular open-air dance in the Fisherman's Park. The music and festive atmosphere will give way to the main events of the festival, which will include a mass in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a sardana dance, and an open-air concert.

Sea shanties will also play a prominent role with an open-air habanera performance on the Paseo de las Palmeras. The evening will conclude with a tasting of the traditional rum drink, an essential part of these summer musical gatherings.

Food will continue to take center stage with a popular sardine feast organized by the fishermen of Cambrils. It's an opportunity to sample one of the most representative products of seafood cuisine and enjoy a day together at the port.

The most solemn and moving moment will come with the traditional procession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The statue will travel through the streets of the maritime district to the Moll de Ponent, where it will be placed on a boat to participate in the maritime procession and offering. Fishing boats and vessels from the Yacht Club will accompany it in this tribute to the patron saint of seafarers.

The celebration will feature drummers, rowers, maritime associations, musicians, local youth groups, and representatives. Several concerts will complete a program that combines devotion, popular culture, and maritime identity.
