Solsona Festival

The Solsona Festival is one of the oldest and at the same time one with the most tradition of all the main festivals currently celebrated throughout the country. This rich and secular festive heritage goes back to the distant past, at least since the 14th century.

The Fiesta Mayor still has the same scenic spaces as those of the 17th century, despite the difference in the number of citizens. In 1690 there were 3,150 inhabitants in Solsona, while today there are more than 9,000 people living there.

The central days are September 8 and 9 when the giants, the dwarfs, the knights, the eagle and the dragon, among others, come out to show off their finery.

In 2008, the Solsona Festival was recognized as a heritage festival of national interest.
