Major Festival of Sant Quirze del Vallès 2024
The Sant Quirze del Vallès Festival is the largest and most participatory celebration in the municipality. Historically, it has been celebrated on the first Sunday in September, coinciding with the time of least work in the field after harvesting the wheat and before starting the harvest. This tradition has continued to this day.
During the four main days that the festival lasts, the streets are filled with various shows open to all citizens and aimed at different age groups. Some events have become established as essential, such as the fideuada or the popular butifarrada, which attract massive attendance.
The giants and the Group of Devils are representative elements of the Festival. The giants, who represent the patron saints of the municipality, Sant Quirze and Santa Julita, have paraded through the streets since 1985, presiding over many activities. They are accompanied by Mariona, created in 2000, Mussol Feliu, baptized in 2003, and Òliba Obdúlia, baptized in 2004.
