Gironella's Major Festival

The pearl of Llobregat, Gironella celebrates one more year its big party: the Festival has arrived!

On the occasion of the patron saint of Gironella, Sant Roc, every August 16 Gironella dresses up to celebrate one of the largest and most famous festivals in the region.

In the events of the Festival we can find traditional acts such as the Pubillatge, the Sardanes dance, the Berguedà folk dance festival with the Esbart Dansaire from Manresa and the Esbart Sant Jordi from Gironella and finally the dance of the Almorratxa, the stately dance par excellence of the Villa de Gironella that is only danced on the occasion of the Major Festival, always leaving Mass with the procession of the authorities.

Apart from the traditional acts, there is also a great offer with its own Children's Festival filled with acts, as well as a youth leisure agenda for the most kaffir.

The great orchestras of the Country also take place with their concerts, serenades and gala dances.

Around Sant Roc, with children's shows, concerts for young people and the already traditional concerts with orchestra. Sant Roc leaves its mark, and citizens write down the dates of the festival on the agenda, since it is important not only to celebrate it, but also for the population to participate and experience it.
